DJ Griffin Schmidt

Griffin is the head DJ and owner of TheGig. He is a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota who now resides in sunny Scottsdale Arizona. Griffin came to the valley in 2001 to attend college at Arizona State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 2007. Although his interests in molecular biology opened many doors following graduation, his true passion and focus was in listening to tons of music and sharing it with family, friends, and coworkers.

Founding TheGig in Phoenix has been a dream come true for Griffin. Spending countless hours perfecting his DJ craft over the years and constantly studying music in all genres, he is an expert in knowing what sound-scape will make your event perfect. In addition to DJing valley wide, he is also actively involved in growing his Off Cactus Entertainment group and its music production division. He hopes for the opportunity to bring his musical passion and workmanlike ethic to your special Gig!

MC Jackie Bacha

Jackie is the lead MC of our entertainment team and event coordinator at TheGig. With her friendly up-beat persona, she can engage and entertain a large group of people while keeping your event on track!

Growing up in Scottsdale Arizona, she attended Horizon High School where her experience as lead choreographer for the high school show choir honed her public speaking skills and her ability to work well with large groups of people. Following high school, she went on to Arizona State University where she graduated magnum cum-laude from the W.P. Carey school of Business with a degree in Marketing. Following her college education, Jackie’s passion for dogs lead her to start a business of her own. Oh My Dog Boutique and Spa is now regarded as the Valley’s best dog boutique and grooming spa!

Jackie is an exceptional master of ceremonies who is very experienced at coordinating and hosting events. She would be the perfect MC for your event. Her outgoing personality and constant professionalism will keep your event well organized, on track and always entertaining!

DJ Ethan Schmidt

DJ Ethan Schmidt is TheGig’s experienced live sound engineer and lighting technician. Ethan is charged with making your event sound (and look!) as good as it possibly can. It’s so much more than just plugging in and putting on an Ipod! His professional training ensures that your event’s sound will be second to none.

Ethan is a native of Mesa Arizona and is both experienced and accomplished in our profession. Having graduated top of his class from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Phoenix Arizona, Ethan holds major certifications in many areas of studio production and live sound. From audio engineering and running recording sessions to live sound design and musical performance, Ethan has the ability to make your Gig sound perfect!

In addition to his live sound responsibilities, Ethan is also a talented DJ for TheGig. His signature, upbeat style is sure to get the party started and your party on its feet!
